My name is Mak.
I’ve since traveled to over twenty countries. I like the concept of slow travel and setting up shop in other countries for months at a time to really learn about the people and place.
I’m definitely what you would call a jack of all trades. I’ve had dozens of jobs over the years, including busboy, waiter, museum security guard, copywriter, web developer, youth counselor, door to door salesman, campground manager, and wildland firefighter (to name just a few). I’ve never embraced the idea of a career and instead sought jobs that would be interesting, teach me something, and provide money to fund my travels.
One thing that’s remained consistent is my unquenchable curiosity for learning about the world through both travel and reading. I also have a knack for sharing my experiences and observations through the written word. For years I ignored this gift out of fear. Fear that no one reads any more and that writing is a lost art. I’ve come back to writing as something I have a talent for which must be expressed.
This blog is a place for me to write about things that interest me–namely travel, dating, lifestyle design, and self-improvement. To reflect and share my thoughts of this crazy adventure and hopefully connect with like-minded individuals.
They say the best way to learn something is to teach it. I aim to continue to learn more about myself as I strive to squeeze the most out of this adventure called life. Hopefully, you get something out of it as well.
